September 2026 – the first of the two new almshouses is now finished
The one bedroomed almshouse conversion has now been completed ready for a new resident to move in.
Trustees held a Celebration Event to mark the occasion.
March 2026 – works have started on 1 Church Lane
Trustees secured a grant of £16000 from The Almshouse Association which together with savings and other donations has allowed work to start on insulating and converting the house that was gifted to the Trust to form two new almshouses. The aim is to use local workers and resources as much as possible. The first phase of works will insulate the whole house and convert one half to a one bedroomed almshouse. The second phase of works will be to complete the conversion of the second part into a two bedroomed almshouse, this will require extra funding which Trustees are working to secure.
